David Henson served as the co-chair of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice seminar called “Disbursements 2012: A Day Late and a Dollar Short.” Topics included an update on Billed v. Paid, Workers’ Comp liens, liens for child support or vocational rehab, lien resolution, and much more. The seminar was held in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the Sheraton Four Seasons.

On Saturday, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) awarded a Fundraising Achievement Award to Thomas Henson, Jr. The Tour de Cure is a two-day fundraising cycling event held in 43 states nationwide to help the ADA prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. In 2009, 40,000 cyclists in 80 Tour events across the nation raised nearly $17 million. Team HensonFuerst, led by Thomas Henson, topped the fundraising boards with a total of $15,277.50.

HensonFuerst recently won a favorable Court of Appeals case involving the issue of underinsured motorist coverage (UIM), and whether a plaintiff can ‘stack’ multiple policies. This favorable opinion is an important decision for all North Carolina motorists who are injured by the negligence of others, and ensures that they are entitled to utilize all available UIM policies for their benefit.
