Two killed, one hospitalized in North Carolina auto accident

Two victims involved in a hit-and-run North Carolina auto accident have been identified, according to Asheville Citizen-Times.

One man and his girlfriend’s son died at the scene. The girlfriend needed surgery and remains hospitalized.

The three victims were crossing the street when the North Carolina auto accident occurred. Two people are now in custody, along with the car involved in the North Carolina auto accident.

The driver was arrested and charged with driving while impaired, death by motor vehicle, and felony hit and run.

Shooting leaves one dead in North Carolina wrongful death

The Rocky Mount Telegram reported that a North Carolina wrongful death happened Friday when a man was shot.

A woman reported the Rocky Mount wrongful death in her home to authorities saying that her husband had been shot.

The victim of the North Carolina wrongful death was pronounced dead at the scene due to several gunshots wounds to the upper torso.

Police are still investigating the Rocky Mount wrongful death and are looking into the motive of the shooting.

Man killed in North Carolina motorcycle accident

The News and Observer reported that a 34-year-old man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was traveling the posted speed limit at the time of the car accident, but there is speculation on whether or not alcohol played a role in the North Carolina motorcycle accident.

The North Carolina motorcycle accident victim was traveling on Bells Lake Road where he lost control of the bike, ran off the road and struck the culvert, throwing him from the bike.

Digging into Charlotte Social Security Disability Delays

The Observer reported that Charlotte workers wait as long as 20 months for Social Security Disability benefits, which is four months longer than the national average.

Reports showed the Carolinas had about 48,500 pending disability cases, including about 8,700 Charlotte Disability benefits cases. Charlotte ranks 125 out of 141 for the waiting time at its Disability and Adjudication and Hearing office.

The reason behind this issue is because Charlotte administrative law judges decided an average of 375 cases in 2006, while the Social Security Administration asks judges to make around 500-600 decisions a year.
