EMS Agencies Donate to Brain Injury Association of North Carolina on David Henson’s Behalf

November 20th, 2017

Attorney David Henson of Henson Fuerst Law Firm speaks to Emergency Medical Service agencies (EMS) throughout North Carolina at various meetings and functions. The responsibility of a Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician is to respond to emergency calls and provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to transport the patient to a medical facility.

Attorney Henson began speaking to EMS agencies throughout North Carolina on the topic of medical negligence and other legal issues that EMT’s may face in their line of work. What began as infrequent presentations, transitioned into David presenting on a regular basis.

Most recently, David spoke to six different EMS and medical transport agencies in western NC.  In appreciation for his day long training of Paramedics and EMT workers, the agencies made a collective contribution on his behalf to the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina (BIANC).

BIANC provides assistance to people living with a brain injury and their families across the North Carolina. Henson Fuerst is a proud financial and resource supporter of this amazing organization. With the donation received, the Association will fund prevention and education services.

David plans to continue to offer these presentations and adapt and expand to new topic areas that emergency medical personnel are faced with on a daily basis.

Most recently, in response to the current Opioid Epidemic and unique issues confronting first responders and emergency medical personnel, David has incorporated a new section to his presentation. The goal is to assist providers in navigating the legal and medical issues concerning the administration of Naloxone and other Opioid Antagonist medications to patients who are facing life threatening medical conditions caused by Opioid Abuse.

David also works with EMS agencies across the state to assist in the development of medical protocols and procedures that ensure patient safety and balance legal issues and protections for medics and patients alike.
