2011 NCAJ Food Drive We participated in an annual food drive sponsored by the North Carolina Association for Justice and donated 1,000 pounds of food and donated $100!

NCAJ Dare to Care: Feed Those in Need Food Drive We participated in the annual North Carolina Association for Justice's Dare to Care: Feed Those in Need Food Drive and collected more than 1,000 pounds of food that benefited people in central and eastern North Carolina.

American Heart Association Start! Heart Walk

American Heart Association Start! Heart Walk Several members from our firm participated in the American Heart Association Start! Heart Walk on Saturday, October 22. It was a beautiful day to be out walking for this worthy cause.

2011 ALS Outreach Professionals Conference HensonFuerst was proud to sponsor the 6th Annual ALS Outreach Professionals Conference on July 30. This year's main topic addressed artificial ventilation as a choice for ALS patients. This cause is important to the members of the law firm, as attorney Bob Fuerst is on the organization's board of directors.

United Community Ministries Food Drive After learning the shelves of the United Community Ministries Food Pantry were almost bare, we hosted a drive to help collect much-needed food and personal hygiene items for the organization.

2011 North Carolina Tour de Cure For the sixth consecutive year, the HensonFuerst Cycling Team raced to find a cure for diabetes during the 2011 North Carolina Tour de Cure. The team raised the most funds for the event, collecting more than $32,000!

2011 Cycling Safety PSA Contest For the third year in a row, we held our cycling safety video PSA contest for local students. We received some amazing entries and are pleased announce Frank Brechbial, Kyle Messina, and Makaila Roberts as the 2011 winners.

Relay For Life of Nash County

Relay For Life of Nash County We were part of the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life on April 29 and 30 at the Rocky Mount Athletic Complex. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone on our team, we raised nearly $1,500 to benefit this amazing cause!

Walk to Defeat ALS

ALS Walk We were proud to be a gold-level sponsor of the "Walk to Defeat ALS" fundraiser on April 2, which benefited the North Carolina's Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter of The ALS Association. The Bob Fuerst Team raised $3,530—well above the team goal of $2,000.

Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride Several of our members attended part of the National Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury Tour from Jan. 28 to 31, when the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation and the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina hosted discussions about pediatric acquired brain injuries.

Dare to Care: Feed Those in Need NCAJ Fall Food Drive We worked with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice in a statewide food collection drive from Nov. 1 through 12, and we are excited to announce that we collected 1,276-lbs of non-perishable groceries! Our firm also made a cash contribution to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, which distributed the collected items.

2010 Twin Counties Start! Heart Walk We were well represented at the Start! Heart Walk fundraiser in Rocky Mount on Oct. 23. Extra thanks to Sheila and her team for all their excellent efforts, and thanks to everyone who gave their time to participate! The event raised nearly $100,000 for the American Heart Association.

Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride Congratulations to members of the HensonFuerst Cycling Team who participated in the Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride on September 11 and 12. This two-day cycling event raised funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis in eastern North Carolina and throughout the United States.

2010 North Carolina Tour de Cure The HensonFuerst Cycling Team joined hundreds of fellow cyclists as they rode to raise funds and awareness for the American Diabetes Association during the North Carolina Tour de Cure. In addition to being the 2010 Tour chairman, attorney Thomas Henson, Jr. served as the captain of the HensonFuerst Cycling Team. They raised an impressive $20,650 for the event, making them one of the Top 50 Fundraising Teams in the country!

Rocky Mount Fun Run for Charities HensonFuerst members joined more than 500 walkers and runners for Reach Out Rocky Mount's Fun Run for Charities on Saturday, May 15. The event brought the community together while raising funds for Rocky Mount's nonprofit organizations, schools, service clubs, and faith-based outreach programs.

Wearing red is an easy, powerful way to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and stroke, the No. 1 killer of women in America.

Flynn Christian Fellowship Home for Men Telethon

Flynn Christian Fellowship Home for Men Telethon We supported the Flynn Christian Fellowship Home, a local nonprofit that assists recovering alcoholics and addicts, by donating both funds and time during the nonprofit's first-ever telethon on Jan. 24. Attorney Bill Hoyle presented the organization with a $500 donation during the telethon, volunteered as a phone operator, and assisted callers. The telethon raised more than $13,000 to support the organization.

Thomas Henson, Jr. Receives Achievement Award On Jan. 23, the American Diabetes Association awarded a Fundraising Achievement Award to attorney Thomas Henson, Jr., who led the HensonFuerst Cycling Team to raise $15,277.50—one of the highest amounts raised by a team in 2010.

American Heart Association’'s Start! Heart Walk

American Heart Association’'s Start! Heart Walk For the third consecutive year, we walked to raise funds and awareness during the American Heart Association's Start! Heart Walk in Rocky Mount on October 24. We raised more than $1,000 in 2009, bringing the total amount raised for the past three years to nearly $3,000!

Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk

Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk Members of HensonFuerst joined others in the fight to end Alzheimer's disease during the Memory Walk on Oct. 3. As an event sponsor, the law firm helped raise awareness and funds to battle this disease, which affects more than five million people in the United States.

HensonFuerst Sponsors 6th Annual La Ley Festival

6th Annual La Ley Festival HensonFuerst took part in 96.9 FM's Sixth Annual La Ley Festival on Saturday, August 13, by hosting a tent where members of the law firm met festival-goers, passed out t-shirts and balloons, and held hourly giveaways for coolers filled with drinks. Bilingual members of the firm, including attorney Adam Foggia, also were on hand to answer patrons' questions.

American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure

American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure Led by team captain Thomas Henson, Jr., the HensonFuerst Cycling Team rode in the Tour de Cure in Cary, North Carolina, on June 6 to support the American Diabetes Association's mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The team raised more than $13,000 for this year's event, surpassing their goal of $10,000.

Rocky Mount Fun Run for Charities

Rocky Mount Fun Run for Charities On May 30, the members of HensonFuerst raised more than $350 for local charities during the Rocky Mount Fun Run for Charities. Ride of Silence

Ride of Silence Attorney Thomas Henson, Jr. joined cyclists during the Ride of Silence on May 20 to honor those who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.

White Lake Triathlon

White Lake Triathlon Attorneys David Henson and Carma Henson competed in the White Lake Triathlon on May 10. The event benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and entails a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run.

Relay For Life

Relay For Life We took part in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Nash County, where they joined others to celebrate survivorship, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and raise funds to fight the disease.

Hope Blooms

Hope Blooms To celebrate raising more than $6,600 for our Hope Blooms community project, we joined community members, cancer survivors, and family members for a day of remembrance and a day of planting more than 2,600 daffodil bulbs. Started in 2006 as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, the firm has raised more than $24,000 since starting the Hope Blooms Project.

Video PSA Contest on Bicycle Safety As part of our cycling safety video contest, we challenged local high school students to create unique and compelling PSAs that encourage teens to understand the importance of safe cycling.

Coats for Kids

Coats For Kids After hearing that more than 500 students at Williford Elementary School in Rocky Mount didn't have proper winter clothing, we contributed coats, hats, gloves, socks, and underclothes to the school. We donated in conjunction with Coats for Kids, a program that distributes the much-needed winter wear.
