2010 North Carolina Tour de Cure
The HensonFuerst Cycling Team joined hundreds of fellow cyclists as they rode to raise funds and awareness for the American Diabetes Association during the North Carolina Tour de Cure on June 5 and 6. In addition to being this year’s Tour chairman, attorney Thomas Henson served as the captain of the HensonFuerst Cycling Team. This is the team’s fifth year to participate, and they raised an impressive$20,650 for the event! Click here to see more photos.

Rocky Mount Fun Run for Charities 2010
HensonFuerst members joined more than 500 walkers and runners for Reach Out Rocky Mount's Fun Run for Charities on Saturday, May 15. The event brings the community together while raising funds for Rocky Mount's nonprofit organizations, schools, service clubs and faith-based outreach programs.
White Lake Sprint Triathlon

Relay for Life of Nash County
Nearly 20 members of HensonFuerst, along with their friends and family, proudly participated in the Relay for Life of Nash County on April 23, 2010. We are excited to announce that our team raised a total of $915.25 for this year's event and tied for third place for the Banner Walk. Ride for the Rock Benefit Cycling Event
We’d like to thank everyone who joined the HensonFuerst Bike Team for this year’s Ride for the Rock, which benefited the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina, on March 6, 2010. More than 160 cyclists chose between a 50K or 100K course that offered pit stops and a sag wagon. Click here for more details.
National Wear Red Day
To draw attention to the serious effects heart disease has on women, members of both HensonFuerst offices clad themselves in crimson on National Wear Red Day. Wearing red is an easy, powerful way to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and stroke, the No. 1 killer of women in America.
Flynn Christian Fellowship Home for Men Telethon
The members of HensonFuerst recently supported the Flynn Christian Fellowship Home for Men, a local nonprofit that has assisted recovering alcoholics and addicts for more than 20 years, by donating both funds and time during the nonprofit’s first-ever telethon.
Firm attorney Bill Hoyle presented the organization with a $500 during the telethon and also volunteered as a phone operator and assisted callers who wanted to make donations. The telethon, which aired on WHIG on January 24, raised more than $13,000 to support the organization.
Thomas Henson, Jr. Receives Achievement Award
On January 23, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) awarded a Fundraising Achievement Award to Thomas Henson Jr. Team HensonFuerst, led by Thomas Henson, topped the Tour de Cure fundraising boards with a total of $15,277.50.
American Heart Association’s Start! Heart Walk
For the third year in a row, the firm’s members walked to raise funds and awareness during the American Heart Association’s Start! Heart Walk in Rocky Mount on Saturday, Oct. 24. The team raised more than $1,000 this year, bringing the total for the past three years to nearly $3,000!
“We want to show everyone how strongly we feel about being heart healthy and keeping fit,” attorney David Henson said. “We’re working together to raise money for research and encourage our friends, family, and neighbors to lead healthier, longer lives.”
Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk 2009
Members of HensonFuerst joined others in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease during the Memory Walk on October 3. As an event sponsor, the law firm helped raise awareness and funds to battle this disease, which affects more than 5 million people in the United States.

HensonFuerst Sponsors 6th Annual La Ley Festival
HensonFuerst took part in 96.9 FM’s Sixth Annual La Ley Festival on Saturday, August 13, by hosting a tent where members of the law firm met festival-goers, passed out t-shirts and balloons, and held hourly giveaways for coolers filled with drinks. Bilingual members of the firm, including attorney Adam Foggia, also were on hand to answer patrons’ questions.

American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure 2009
Led by team captain Thomas Henson Jr., the HensonFuerst Cycling Team rode in the Tour de Cure in Cary, North Carolina, on June 6 to support the ADA’s mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The team raised more than $13,000 for this year’s event, surpassing their goal of $10,000. Last year, the team raised more than $7,500 during the event.

Rocky Mount Fun Run for Charities 2009
On Saturday, May 30, the members of HensonFuerst raised more than $350 for local charities during the Rocky Mount Fun Run for Charities. The funds will be matched by the Fun Run’s official sponsor Reach Out Rocky Mount. Congratulations to all who participated in the event—the weather was beautiful, and it was a great day for participating in one of the 2009 HensonFuerst Health Initiative projects! Hope Blooms 2009
To celebrate raising more than $6,600 for their annual Hope Blooms community project, Henson Fuerst employees joined community members, cancer survivors and family members for a day of remembrance, and a day of planting more than 2,600 daffodil bulbs. Coats for Kids
After hearing that more than 500 students at Williford Elementary School in Rocky Mount didn’t have proper winter clothing, the members of HensonFuerst contributed coats, hats, gloves, socks, and underclothes to the school. Coats for Kids, the program that distributes the much-needed winter wear, was created by the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Rocky Mount Program.
Heart Walk 2008
HensonFuerst staff members participated in the local Heart Walk event and raised more than $2,000 for the American Heart Association. Along with collecting donations, staff members raised money by chipping in $5 to wear jeans on Fridays leading up to the walk.
