Health initiative
Welcome to the HensonFuerst Health Initiative!
The members of HensonFuerst have been involved in community events for many years, and they recognize the importance of giving back to their neighbors. Because of HensonFuerst’s commitment to helping others, the firm created the HensonFuerst Health Initiative—a comprehensive program that encompasses all of the firm’s community and service efforts—to encourage both firm and community involvement toward efforts designed to prevent injuries and accidents, improve health and fitness, and aid organizations committed to improving the health and well-being of people with disease.
Programs such as Hope Blooms—a community garden that promotes cancer awareness and survivorship as well as to aids in the fight to eradicate cancer—have allowed everyone at HensonFuerst to make a positive difference in the lives of their friends, family, and neighbors. The firm also participates in fundraising initiatives that benefit the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, and Coats for Kids, to name a few. In 2008, the firm raised and donated more than $25,000 to local charities and organizations.
Firm members, who range in ages from 18 to 70, also value the importance of staying active and promoting healthful lifestyles by participating in activities such as running, weightlifting, mountain biking, hiking, walking, scuba diving, road cycling, triathlons, kayaking, swimming, and tennis.
Congratulations to attorney Bob Fuerst for being appointed to the board of directors of the ALS Association's Jim "Catfish" Hunter chapter. The Catfish Chapter, which provides services to more than 600 people living with ALS in North Carolina, has been named "Chapter of the Year" twice by the national office for its overall excellence in providing care and support to North Carolinians affected by Lou Gehrig's disease.
