Joey was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1976. He received his B.A. in government from Campbell University in 1999 and his J.D. in 2002 from Ohio Northern University where he was a member of the Law Review.

Joey focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury and workers' compensation. He has witnessed firsthand the devastation injuries can have on individuals and their families. He actively litigates claims for individuals who have suffered a wide range of on-the-job injuries or disease before the North Carolina Industrial Commission.

Joey is admitted to practice in North Carolina, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina.
