The employee was occupying a portable toilet when a metal beam fell from the fifth floor of a building onto the toilet, crushing it. After the accident, the employee was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.

At this time, the accident still remains under investigation by the Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). However, what we do know at this time is that Department of Labor records show that Barnhill operates across North Carolina and in the last 10 years has had six serious violations. Three of which involved the death of an on-the-job worker.
