Two Attorneys, Two Races, Two Weeks
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C., May 4, 2010—This spring, HensonFuerst attorneys David Henson and Adam Foggia are racing the clock and several hundred athletes to raise funds and awareness for local charities.
On May 2, the pair competed with nearly 900 athletes in the White Lake Sprint Triathlon and, in two weeks, they’ll participate in Reach Out Rocky Mount’s annual Fun Run for Charities.
White Lake Sprint Triathlon
Henson and Foggia traveled to White Lake, N.C., to swim, cycle, and run in the White Lake Sprint Triathlon. To recognize Henson and Foggia’s commitment to training and competing in the race, HensonFuerst showed its support by donating $1,000 on their behalf to the Down East Partnership for Children (DEPC) and its Healthy Kids Collaborative program.
“The DEPC is an amazing organization that benefits everyone in our community by helping ensure children are equipped with the skills to succeed as they grow into adults,” said Henson, who serves as the organization’s chairman. “The DEPC contributes more than $8 million annually into the local economy. These funds are critical to a part of North Carolina where the economy has struggled.”
Reach Out Rocky Mount’s Fun Run for Charities
On May 15, HensonFuerst employees will join other community members in Reach Out Rocky Mount’s annual Fun Run for Charities that will benefit 50 local nonprofit organizations.
“Reach Out Rocky Mount aids local charities provide help to others by creating a supportive community,” attorney Adam Foggia said. “This race shows our community in action, we’re coming together to support this great cause.”
Henson, who is on the board of directors of Reach Out Rocky Mount, will be helping plan and host the event. “We participated last year, and after I saw what a success it was, I immediately volunteered to help this year,” he said.
The firm will be donating at least $500 to the event this year.
The HensonFuerst Health Initiative
To recognize the importance of giving back, the firm established the HensonFuerst Health Initiative, a comprehensive plan that encompasses all of the law firm’s community service efforts. The initiative encourages everyone to prevent injuries, improve health and fitness, and aid organizations committed to bettering health and well-being.
