The only way a lawyer can be chosen for designation as a Super Lawyer is through this selection process.  Law & Media uses a system of nominations, peer evaluations and internal research, which acts as a system of checks and balances.  As a 2009 North Carolina Super Lawyer designee, Thomas handles personal injury cases dealing with nursing home abuse and neglect.

He is respected by his peers for the work he has done to improve the quality of elder care in the state of North Carolina. Thomas has lectured at North Carolina State University on nursing home neglect issues and for the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers on nursing home litigation. He actively lobbies for legislative action to improve long-term care for the elderly in North Carolina.
