Hurricane Matthew hit North Carolina just over two weeks ago, but many people in our state are still devastated by the storm. 27 counties in North Carolina have been designated “disaster counties” by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA.)
The State of North Carolina estimates that 100,000 homes, businesses and government buildings on our state have been impacted by flooding, resulting in approximately $1.5 billion in total damages.
During these difficult times, we all need to come together to lend a helping hand.
We would like to recognize the brave men and women in our community that have worked so hard in communities impacted by the flooding to help local families and businesses recover.
On Wednesday, 10/19, Henson Fuerst sponsored a lunch for City of Rocky Mount Employees in the Storm Water Division and the Electrical/Power Division. The lunch was our way of thanking them for their work before, during and after the storm.
We are proud to recognize these local heroes for keeping the residents of Rocky Mount safe during times of inclement weather, hurricanes and other emergencies. They continue to pull double duty in our community as they work to repair the damage that was done by Hurricane Matthew.
Please continue to donate much-needed supplies in this difficult time. Henson Fuerst, P.A. will transport and distribute all goods collected to the shelters in need.
Thank you for your help and please be safe.
