David Henson Joins Board of Directors of InterAct of Wake County

June 27, 2013

While many people in North Carolina are hurt each year because of accidents, far too many others are purposefully injured at the hands of another person. Last year, the state again saw an increase in the number of North Carolina Sexual Abuse and domestic violence cases.

In an effort to help these victims, David Henson, a partner with the North Carolina Personal Injury Lawyers of HensonFuerst, has joined the Board of Directors of InterAct of Wake County.

InterAct of Wake County is a private, non-profit agency of the United Way that provides assistance and education to the victims of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault. The organization offers services that provide shelter and court advocacy to victims, as well as a 24-hour call-in crisis line that connects victims with a counselor they can talk to about their situation. Furthermore, InterAct provides educational programs and care for children whose lives have been affected by domestic violence or sexual assault.

InterAct is raising awareness about their cause this afternoon by hosting their annual Midtown Beach Music Series from 6-9pm at The Commons at North Hills. The public is invited to come out and enjoy a night of free music and learn more about InterAct’s mission.

If you’re interested in joining David Henson in supporting InterAct of Wake County and their efforts to stop domestic violence and sexual assault, you can attend one of several upcoming informational sessions at the organization’s headquarters, located at 1012 Oberlin Road in Raleigh.
