At Henson Fuerst, Attorneys at Law, we are thrilled to help students and members of the community succeed, by offering programs like the Henson Fuerst College Scholarship Essay Program.
This college scholarship essay program awards a $1,000 scholarship to one lucky winner each year. The recipient can put this towards their tuition to pursue any field of study from an accredited college.
This year’s essay topic was on “How adversity has affected your life.” The essay program was open to all prospective or current undergraduate students attending an accredited college or university throughout the country.
The 2017 winner of the $1,000 Henson Fuerst College Scholarship Essay Program is Christina, a sophomore at Metropolitan Community College who is studying psychology with a focus in mental health.
Christina chose to write her essay on an experience she went through as a young girl. She described the obstacles she faced and how these obstacles have made her into who she is today.
She also touched on her diagnosis with PTSD and the EMDR treatment she had to undergo for months. Which led her to choose psychology as her area of study with hopes to eventually go through EMDR training in order to help others suffering from PTSD.
Thank you to all students who submitted an essay this year, each and everyone was moving and all of you have such bright futures. We look forward to seeing what next year will bring!
Congratulations Christina from everyone at Henson Fuerst Law!
