HensonFuerst Cycling Team Rides Again!

From HensonFuerst partner Thomas Henson, Jr.:

It hardly seems like a year since the last Tour de Cure, but we’re already preparing for this year’s ride. The Tour de Cure is a series of fundraising cycling events held in 43 nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cycler. Last year, the HensonFuerst Cycling Team placed FIRST in overall fundraising for the Raleigh event, raising over $24,000!

I am proud to serve as the Chair for the 2011 Tour de Cure cycling event. It has been an honor for me to serve in that capacity, and we are doing everything we can to make it successful. I have always believed that with greater blessings comes greater responsibility. The primary responsibility we share by joining in this particular venture and comraderie is to raise money to find a cure for diabetes. We do this so that we can protect a another 9-year-old kid  from hearing the same words I did when I was that age:  “Son, you have diabetes.” Don’ t underestimate the fear that one sentence causes . . . and with the research sponsored by the ADA, we have the power to stop it.

HensonFuerst Cycling Team returns to the event again this year, and our fundraising goal is $25,000. With 40 members, our team is currently the largest team registered to participate.

All the best,

Thomas Henson
