Attorney Thomas Henson of Henson Fuerst has recently been selected to serve another term on the North Carolina Brain Injury Advisory Council (BIAC). The honor comes in recognition of his work with clients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries.
About BIAC
The purpose of the North Carolina Brain Injury Advisory Council (BIAC) is to review the nature and cause of traumatic and other acquired brain injuries in North Carolina. The Council also makes recommendations to the Governor, the General Assembly, and the Secretary of Health and Human Services regarding the planning, development, funding, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide service delivery system to address the needs of brain injury survivors.
Serving Those Who Have Suffered from a TBI
In 2012, Governor Perdue appointed Thomas Henson to the state’s Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council, which studies the needs of people with brain injuries. He is also a member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina (BIANC).
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month
For more than three decades, the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) has proudly led the nation in observing Brain Injury Awareness Month by conducting an engaging public awareness campaign in March of each year. The theme for the current campaign is “Change Your Mind.” This public-awareness campaign provides a platform for educating the general public about the incidence of brain injury and the needs of people with brain injuries and their families.
